She sat in a chair today, and she just told me that it was very hard, but she knew she had to do it to get out of here.
She wants me to tell you all thank you so much for the prayers.
She has a much better attitude today.
Rod, her son, brought up a white board and is writing scripture on it so that she can read it each day. This is very encouraging to her.
She has to sit in the chair again tomorrow. She just said, "They will think it's crazy that I want them to pray that I can sit in a chair." But that's what she wants so please pray for her to be able to do this again tomorrow.
She just said, "That'll give em some laughs, won't it?"
Thank you for your prayers and keep em coming!
The below was written by my uncle Rod earlier today.
"Mom has made very encouraging strides in the past 24 hours. Her voice is much stronger--almost back to normal. She's eating better, including this morning's breakfast of pancakes, melon, and yogurt. Not a lot, but considerably more that before.
But the big victory this morning was getting into her chair with the help of physical therapists. She even said that it wasn't as bad as she expected. I can't begin to tell you what a milestone that was. The physical therapistswere very pleased with how she did. She's now sitting comfortably in the chair. She even joked, "Don't take away my driver's license just yet."
Hi Maxine! Jerry and I have been following your progress daily, and we're so glad to hear of the strides you've made. I know it has been difficult, but you're such a strong person. We're rooting for you! Hugs, Mary Ellen
